Join us in celebrating the arrival of spring. On March 29th we will have a day full of activities for the entire family. From 10 am to noon there is Let’s Go Fly a Kite, where kids of all ages can demonstrate their artistic skills as they build, decorate, and fly a kite. David Gomberg of Northwest Winds Kites and Toys will be on hand to talk about the variety of kites and what makes them go up in the air. The Raptors take over at 2 pm with Bring the Wild Alive. Kit Lacey, educational director at the Cascade Raptor Center in Eugene, will talk about the importance of birds of prey in Oregon ecosystems and the work done at the Raptor Center. Featured guests will include several raptor residents from the Center. Finally, Dance the Night Away from 6 to 9 pm. Enjoy the sounds of the T-Bones, a popular rock and blues trio from Kalama along with wine, beer, and appetizers provided by Pacific City’s Oar House Restaurant.
All events will be held at the Kiawanda Community Center in Pacific City. Let’s Go Fly a Kite and Bring the Wild Alive are free to the public. Donations will be gratefully accepted. Admission to Dance the Night Away is $30 for adults and includes 2 complimentary glasses of wine. Kids are free.
