Enjoy a day at the Beach – Come to Pacific City for the Community Park OPEN HOUSE
sponsored by Nestucca Valley Community Alliance NVCA
Designed to showcase the potential of the Community Park, the Open House will feature “Touch-a-Truck” fun where kids can climb and explore community vehicles like a police cruiser, heavy equipment rigs, dory boats and more…….
There will be a free family style picnic and BBQ with hot dogs (courtesy of Ben & Jeff’s) as well as Tillamook Ice Cream and a Caramel Corn Food Truck. Also – Visitors will be entered in a chance to win one of two raffle door prizes.
The Community Arts Projects will also host a creative, fun kids art activity on site.
This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to see all the possibilities of the community park planned for this amazing space. The Open House will display how the park will be designed and future locations of the playground, amphitheater, picnic areas and other features.
Please contact NVCA at firstname.lastname@example.org if you or your organization would like to host a booth to share information or if you have other interesting vehicles to add to the celebration.
It is official. On May 9, 2018, Nestucca Valley Community Alliance was awarded a $15,000 TLT Tourism-Related Facilities Grant. The grant will be used to purchase, picnic tables, park benches, an informational kiosk and other amenities for the Community Park in Pacific City.
This is one step closer to the $1.6 million cost of the park. In 2018 – the Park parking lot will again be open on weekends to alleviate congestion at the Cape. NVCA is also working to secure larger grants for the children’s playground and the park infrastructure.
Want to help get the park completed – come join us on June 2, 2018 at 10 AM at the Kiawanda Community Center where we will be discussing the park progress and the upcoming Open House on June 9.
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday. The New Year is upon us and NVCA is moving toward a productive 2018. We are planning the next steps for the development of the park which includes securing funding for infrastructure projects, the playground, the skate park, and Science Camp 2018. Also, we are planning our processes to keep the parking lot open in peak periods this spring and summer.
NVCA would like to hold an “Open House” this spring for the community to view the park and its future plans. We need someone to lead a committee to organize a spring/summer “Open House”. Do you have good event planning skills? Do you want to help make a difference in the community?
With the help and support of the NVCA board, the Open House committee would recruit a few members, develop a budget, plan and implement the Open House. Interested? Please let us know at email@example.com. Just put Open House in the subject line. Or call Richard at 503-965-0018.
Next NVCA Park Meeting is schedule for Saturday, January 13th at the Kiawanda Community Center at 1:00 pm. Come join us!
